Hello All,
I'm happy to announce that because my last scan was stable I have been granted a 6 - 8 week chemotherapy and Avastin break. I will be re-scanned the week of March 14. If those scans come back stable I will be granted another 6 - 8 week break.
This is the first time in two years that I don't have to be at Northwestern every week during chemo (every three weeks during breaks). While I like Northwestern and the people there I am SO excited that I don't have to be there for awhile. I am going to do my best during this break to avoid Northwestern like the plague.
We returned from Marco Island last week feeling refreshed and renewed. My hands are healing nicely and I have already kicked the need for sleeping pills. I'm so thankful to feel like myself again.
Please continue to pray for good scan results. The longer the results are stable the longer the break. The longer the break the longer I get to feel like myself and not like my alter ego "chemo Maria" - at least that's what Wayne calls her : )
